The negative CSk for IPL in Dubai was a big lesson for the team, says bowling coach Eric Simons

The Chennai Super Kings strikers plan to strike furiously on the slowish tracks in the UAE compared to last season and that’s what they’ve been doing during the first two games, bowling adviser Eric Simons said.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have produced a clinical show to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by six wickets and claim top spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in Sharjah on Friday.

The former Indian bowling coach said the final IPL was a great learning experience.

"So, what went wrong here in the last IPL was a big lesson for us. But I think, in stark contrast to our blows, we came out more aggressive than in the past," Simons told a post-match press conference after his side's draw with Royal Challengers Bangalore .

Simons praised his colleague Dwayne Bravo, who returned with a score of 3/24, saying the team was 'overjoyed' with his work and that West Indian had 'served very well in the last few games.'

Shardul Thakur, who also scored two important wickets, Simons said Palghar's boy was very clever at how he used his tactics and his ability to learn wicket with the batsman and the (game) situation.

Simons also said that the dress led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni learned a lesson after the horrific exhibition in the 2020 magazine, which was also held in the UAE.

"We've talked about what worked for us in India during the first half of the IPL (2021). We talked about what we did wrong here (in the United Arab Emirates last year).
